Toronto Celebrates AES Gold - Christmas Social The Audio Engineering Society celebrated it's 50th anniversary this year. How old is the Toronto Section of the AES? Find out at our December meeting! We've invited some longtime AES members and other "vintage" audio professionals from the Toronto area to our Christmas social.
CBC Museum Curator Ivan Harris sets the historical tone for the evening. Ivan will present a short talk on recording devices used at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation from its birth in 1936 to the present day. He promises to have some original artifacts on hand.
Then join us for some fine finger food and raise a glass to toast our special guests from the Toronto audio community. Renew old acquantances and trade audio war stories about days long gone.
And we have some historical videos to show you. These videos, specially produced for the Golden Anniversary celebrations at the New York and Amsterdam conventions, tell the story of the history of audio and of the AES.
Don't miss this event. It promises to be a special evening!
