October 1996

Notes

Welcome Frank Lockwood

Frank Lockwood joins the Executive Committee after two years as a member of the Toronto section. A musician for over twenty years, he received a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance from the University of Calgary in 1978. At that point, Frank combined his interest in music with an increasing interest in Audio Engineering, first working in a twenty-four track studio in Calgary, and then moving on to study formally at McGill University (where he was Section Chairman of the Student Section of the A.E.S.), completing a Master's Degree in Sound Recording in 1991. After that Frank went on to spend two years in a post-graduate residency at the Banff Centre's Media Arts Department, followed by a temporary contract as Senior Music Recording Engineer with the CBC in Regina. For the past two years, Frank has resided in Toronto, where he owns and operates a location recording and editing services, Lockwood A.R.S., with a focus on recording classical and acoustic music.

Changes in TO AES Executive

The Executive is also pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Mombourquette to the position of Vice-Chair and Paul Reibling to the position of Assistant Treasurer.
