If this rumour is true, XM Satellite Radio and Delphi are going to
introduce a wearable satellite
radio very soon. Supposedly it’ll be called “MyFI” and a quick check of
the US Patent and Trademark Office reveals that they Delphi did in fact
make a
trademark filing for “MyFI” a couple of months ago.
Satradio until now has been mostly restricted
to Americans in cars. The CRTC is considering an application for
Canadian distribution from the CBC and Sirius. This could be another
technology to nip away at the market share that over-the-air radio
broadcasters have. [via Engadget]
