If this rumour is true, XM Satellite Radio and Delphi are going to introduce a wearable satellite radio very soon. Supposedly it’ll be called “MyFI” and a quick check of the US Patent and Trademark Office reveals that they Delphi did in fact make a trademark filing for “MyFI” a couple of months ago.
Satradio until now has been mostly restricted to Americans in cars. The CRTC is considering an application for Canadian distribution from the CBC and Sirius. This could be another technology to nip away at the market share that over-the-air radio broadcasters have. [via Engadget]
